  跳读了总体文学一章，作为另一本概论的补充；但是总觉得读起来有点模糊，野心很大，但具体的研究方法和理论似乎重复，边界不是很明晰…另外在同样是曹主编的另一本书里，有几个分支学科划分到平行研究，但是在这本书里当成总体文学分支来介绍

  报了个手捏陶瓷课，想学习下理论基础知识，这本书基本可以满足，内容比较基础和偏实操，小白第一本书看这个倒是够用了，想深入了解还需要看其他的书。这本书最大的问题是案例的审美真的不大行，看了这些成品，都不想做了……

  眼睛看会了

• The simplest can be the truest

  Most grown-ups lose interest in reading fairy tales or fables, and think the stories are just for kids. I used to be one of them. Exactly, those stories try to teach us some “correct” truth and morals, which seem to be over easy comparing to our real, complicated life.

  But who says the simplest cannot be the truest? After years of life experience, we might pick up these stories again, and find the truth within are more than just what is believed to be true. To some extent, they are the Facts. Although the simplest is usually the easiest to forget.

  According to the little prince, humen keep rushing around without knowing what they are really looking for. Indeed, we seem to either pursue fame and fortune following the crowd, or mumble about our life being meaningless.

  It’s not difficult to identify the essential one though. As stated by the fox, it’s the time we have “wasted” for the one that makes them so important. In other words, there may not be the destined one. It’s all about how much time we spend and what we have done on them. We choose which one to be important.

  The little prince is obviously too naive and sincere to be a real person. On the other hand, he shares similar feeling as we do, which makes him so real, just like any one of us. Remember when he saw a garden of five thousand roses, he cried: “I thought that I was rich, with a flower that was unique in all the world; and all I had was a common rose... that doesn’t make me a very good prince.”

  The juvenile see themself as the king of the world. Whilst an adult understand that there’s always someone better then h/er. That’s the truth we will learn when we grow up.

  We may not be the best, we can nevertheless be unique or make others unique. Look by heart, spend some time, and we will find the important one to be responsible for whole life.

  To go back home, the little prince had no choice but ended his life. I feel deep sorrow about the unexpected tragic end. I thought he would just have flown to his asteroid. Fortunately this is an open-ended story. I would rather believe he did free himself from the constraint of heavy body, went back to his planet, and lived happily ever after.

  Ps: Just find a piece of scratch painting I did long before I read this book. It’s about the little prince “flying” home. What a conincidence.

• Global Neuronal Workspace

  这个被称作是最有前途的两个有关于consciousness的理论之一的“Global Neuronal Workspace” 是什么意思，听起来玄乎，其实也好理解。

  记得拉马钱德兰在介绍通感的时候，极为精彩解释诸如颜色和数字在视觉处理层次上的极具说服力的实验。而Dahaene的前两本popsci的书分别就是1）number sense 2）brain reading

  这两样都不是基础的视觉处理qulia，而是抽象的随意符号，书写系统和数字的研究。

  那么Dahaene的着力点显然也在于semtantic方面的研究，特别是所谓的unconsciousness领域。好了细心的读者也许会有疑惑，语言和意识的关系自然无需多言，既然已经进入到了语义的范畴，怎么又说unconsciousness无意识呢？

  Dahaene很有说服力说明了

  无意识的处理有意义的过程

  ”

  这样一个概念，在此基础之上所谓的Global Neuronal Workspace可谓顺理成章。

  细节因为本书“准稳狠”，废话极少，还是需要自己看书体会了。

  btw：以前否认free will的科学家的依据是在时间发生之前，从brain activity（fMRI，brain wave）就可以预测一个人真实意愿，并以此来否认free will。其实按照Dahaene的说法，这些是无稽之谈，因为unconsciousness可以处理抽象的，语义的对象，而且这种local neuronal workspace从unconsciousness进入到所谓的意识层次，Global neuronal workspace之间的扎实的，居于实证的，显著的区别。
